How do I disable the onboard video card? I have a new DVI card to install in Palvilion a1140n

Hi, you can disable your video card through the Device Manager. In Windows XP, right click on My Computer and select Manage, then double click Device Manager on the left side of the window that opens up. (In Windows Vista, it's called Computer instead of My Computer, but it's otherwise the same process.)

In the Device Manager, click on the plus sign next to Display Adapters to expand that category, and where you see your video card, right click on it and choose Disable. If you later want to re-enable it, just come back into Device Manager, right click on the card, and choose Enable.
