We understand that your problem is: I have two jbl eon 15 two way (non powered) speakers. recently heard a loud crack through them (mic was not on)and since then my music and my voice now sounds really tinny, toppy whatever i am not a techead as yu can tell. I use a shure sm58 beta radio mic and i have a spirit by soundcraft 800 mixing desk amp. All i know is it doesnt sound right and they dont seem to have the volume they used to have or that nice mix of voice and music. I am also now experiencing more feedback at the bass end and the top end which I rarely used to get before this pop. I have to take the top right off the music and my voice to stop the feedback and i never had to do this before.could be just a coincindence or culd this have blown something insde the speaker or could it be a cable or something I dont know where to start. my desk has been serviced and all checked out and no probs there, some guy measured the sound of all my knobs with a meter thingy and said that was fine too on all channels and frequencys. so any ideas cause it is driving me nuts.

SOURCE: Hi I am a solo

It sounds like the Power Amplifier shot a big jolt of DC Voltage to the Speakers and opened the Woofers. If this was the case the speakers would read open and not the 8 ohms they should.
If this happened than your horns will be the only thing working and this would give you a tin bucket voice. Have your Engineer check your Amplifier................. Larry
