I have a du code that will not go off and the door is locked.

dU flashes if the following conditions occur:
? Excessive force on door lid is preventing lock bolt from retracting.
? Wash media buildup is preventing lock bolt from retracting.
? Machine/motor control cannot determine if door lock is in an unlocked state.

DU = Door Unlock code

Washing machine displays error code F/DU after six attempts to unlock.
-Door lock assembly failed.
-Test door lock switch
-Visually inspect wire harness connection on CCU, Door lock assembly, replace door lock assembly.

The door lock assemble on this washing machine can be replaced from either the top of the front. The door boot can be removed or the top of the washer can be removed.

The F30 error code (dU) will flash when the dispenser motor cannot be driven to its proper position.



Door Unlock Error

A Door Unlock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked.
It will try to unlock the door 6 times before displaying the error.


Door Lock Mechanism broken.
Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly for foreign objects
Check Wire Harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)
Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure


If it is a cabrio:
dU flashes if the following conditions occur:
Excessive force on door lid is preventing lock bolt from retracting.
Wash media buildup is preventing lock bolt from retracting.
Machine/motor control cannot determine if door lid is in an unlocked state.





TEST #8 Door Lid Lock
Perform the following checks if washer fails to lock (or unlock).
1. Perform Manual: Door Switch and Manual: Door Lid Lock tests.
2. Remove the console to access the machine/ motor control assembly. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies.
3. Visually check that the P12 connector is inserted all the way into the machine/motor control. If visual check passes, go to step 4. If visual check fails, reconnect P4 and repeat step 1.
4. Check the lid lock motor winding and switches by removing P12 from the machine/ motor control and checking the
resistance values....

If resistance values are good, go to step 5. If switch measurements do not match the values shown in the table for unlocked (or locked) conditions, a problem
exists in the door lid lock. Replace the door lid lock.

5. If the Manual: Door Switch or Manual: Door Lid Lock in step 1 failed, then the machine/motor control has failed: Unplug washer or disconnect power.
Replace machine/motor control assembly. Perform the Manual: Door Switch and Manual: Door Lid Lock in step 1 to verify repair.

that code is for the door unlock error. is it possible that you may have tried really hard to open the units lid when it was locked? if so the door lock may have been broken. if not, then try to unplug the unit for a few minutes and try a new cycle.
if the code comes up again then you will have to call for free service as it has a 1 year warranty for parts and labor. yes even if you broke the lid lock!!! dont worry it happens when you get something new and are not sure how it works.

brand new and you changed the latch mech.? door latch or lock asm.? DU is door unlock error, it tried to unlock and cant. usually replace lock asm (inside machine) for this problem. may have latch out of alignment.

Just in case there is a pull string with a loop, all plastic under the latch, need to pull the toe panel off and reach up inside the right, unplugged of course until you feel the switch. a pull latch is below the switch incase this happens and hats off to all star/ a serial error or a faulty switch is most of what causes this to start.

The du error code relates to door/lid that cannot unlock. Check that there is no excessive weight on the lid. In case this is not the issue, you should check the lid switch unit. Good luck !
