When I plug to my nextar MA715A-BR 8GB MP3 player into my PC all that shows up is 'Audio player' and I cannot access the contents. This has happened twice since I've had the player. I can't find my instruction manual. I did something when it happened before but I can't remember what. I think I had to reset and download all my music/audio books again. Also, sometimes (not always) when I download music to the player it shows as being there but when I try to play it- nothing is there but the folder title, no music.

SOURCE: Nextar MA566

I had the same problem with my computer not recognizing my player when I tried to install it. It turned out the front USB ports for some reason weren't working (for it - they seem to work for other things, just not players). Try one of your USB ports in the back. Unplug a printer or something temporarily if you have to if its using the only one you have. The first clue to whether its working or not (for the player) is that the player screen light (blue) will turn itself on and STAY ON while its plugged in. If the light isn't coming on, then you need to try a different computer maybe.

I'm reading that lots of people are having this same problem - it causes me to wonder if maybe Nextar's USB connectors don't "quite" fit in the USB ports - they seem to be loose like they are too small (the nextar ones) on the MA566. My son's (a different version but still NEXTAR) work fine on ALL the ports of my computer. Go figure.

SOURCE: Problem playing a downloaded audio book

Perhaps your audio book was from audible.com. They use their own audible format ( .aa instead of .mp3) and only certain mp3 players can play .aa files. If the book is in .aa format, go to www.audible.com and check to see whether or not your player is compatible with .aa files. If not, you're outta luck. durok

SOURCE: I just downloaded a new CD to my Nextar MP3 player

Could be a corrupted file, or it could be in the wrong format. Try ripping the CD to your computer in the MP3 format (using http://www.freerip.com/ or something of the like) and placing the tracks on your MP3 player that way. It should fix the problem easily.

SOURCE: My MP3 player won't play music anymore!

Maybe the first one had something wrong with it. Mine has done that since I got it at Christmas. I'm going to swap it for a new one. Mine got screwed up at the factory.
