I have just purchased a Car from the US (import) and it has a AVIC-D3 fitted as standard. i initially thought that all I need to do is to buy the European disk and everything would be fine.
After speaking to pioneer they tell me that the actual electronics inside are completely different and so it won't work work any where other than the US. This I find a little hard to believe!. Does anyone know if buying the EU disk the unit will work (I'm not worried about the radio frq) or will I have to buy a new unit
Aside from the radio frequency, the unit will work fine. I am not so sure on the navigation, although I would imagine the detailed maps on the disks wouldn't have an issue loading up.
