With any Wii games the notice appears "an error has occured. Please remove game disc, turn off power, remove plug and contact tech support. At first this notice appeared in about five minutes after turning on the game, then the notice appeared immediately .

I'm trying to install a new Wii through a DVD/VCR. I get the Wii menu and sound, but the Disk Channel icon is not blue and am told that the disk cannot be read and to consult the manual. Am I doing something wrong or is that a hardware problem?

I called Nintendo. Our Wii was unable to be fixed by troubleshooting by phone. I'm having to send it back to them to repair or replace. They really were helpful and facilitated everything for me. My Wii was bought in 2006 and had no more warranty on it, however, they charged me $75 + $7.50 in shipping to send it back to them. If it can be repaired, they'll send it back to me fixed, however, if not, they'll send me a new one at no extra charge.
