My PS3 has had the YLOD 3 times now and I've repaired every time myself. Each time I repaired it last about 6months before it gets hit by the YLOD again. After repairing the console for a 3rd time I was able to get in 2 hours of game play before my PS3 froze up on me. I turned it off and restarted it however something keeps happening which has never happened before. I've been searching over the Internet for the best part of an hour and I can't find any reference to it let alone a solution. As I turn my PS3 on from the main switch it automatically turns on to solid green without me pressing the on switch at the front or by pressing the PS3 button on the PS3 controller. After it turns on it stays solid green for 3 seconds, there's 1 beep then 2 seconds later there another single beep then it turns off to solid red. If I attempt to turn it on from the front after the first shutdown from the solid red standby mode, it turns back on to solid green for 3 seconds, 1 single beep, 2 seconds later 2 beeps, another 2 seconds later there a single beep again and finally it shuts down to a solid red light. I also have a disc in there which I am unable to remove. I'm trying to keep this PS3 running as long as possible until the PS3 Slim white is released to the EU. I would rather not spend £150 on getting a refurbished PS3 in the mean time. Thanks for any assistance.
