Does it see the CD drive? If not, then your drive is unplugged or bad, or you have malware problems.

Is it a recordable, blank cd in a CD-ROM that doesn't have burn capabilities?

Is the CD itself in good condition? Can you hear the drive spin the CD up?

Not exactly The computer detects the drive but windows does not detect the driver. Uninstall the drive in the Device Manager and Restart the computer. This will reinstall the driver..

Open my computer then click(open) on the CD drive...
Check if there the CD is been detected.
If it can detect the content of the CD.. open the content and look for setup.exe
Run SetUp.

if the the CD room does not have any content... there is a problem with your CD room

oh my frd...it happens bcoz u could hav burned u r cd in data files format...wch will not detected by the cd player...cd player detects only the mp3 formats...so nxt tym u burn a cd check whether the option wch u given s mp3 format for audio files...and main thing is that check whther u burned a CD or DVD...bcoz CD player will not detect DVD...a DVD player can detect CD whereas CD player cant detect DVD disc my frd!!!!

Whenever i am connecting the lg lxu-800 usb modem in my computer it is asking for the device driver software.Although i have the cd,still it is not getting detected.
  1. Disconnect modem from computer by taking out the usb lead from computer
  2. insert modem cd in cd/dvd drive and run install
  3. Install the driver from the cd
  4. follow directions onscreen the restart computer if necessary
  5. plug modem back into usb port
  6. now when windows detects it it will find the correct drivers

SAMSUNG CD-ROM SH 152>> Detection Error
Dear Sheila

After connecting it to the motherboard, switch on the pc, then go to properties of "my computer" then choose "Hardware" then choose device manager and over here u will come to know weather ur CD rom has been detected or not, if it has a question mark then it means u have to install drivers for it, but if ur using Win XP, i am sure it shd detect automatically and need not ask for drivers. Hoping a good rating from u....!!!
