Clueless..! I have a MTX 1501d which is the same as the 81000d but different chassis. I have sufficient power source- 1/0 gauge wire and 2 farad Rockford Fosgate capacitor power. The amp powers on perfectly and produces sound, but only when frequency, EQ, and gain is turned all the way up, or at least halfway up. Even then, w/ all three 100% up, it only produces weak power- maybe a cpl hundred watts. Of course at that point, not only does it sound horrible, but it's nothing near as loud as it should be. When the frequency and EQ knobs are both all the way down... the gain doesn't provide any difference in power. With these three controls turned down, you only feel current going through subs, but no sound, and then when you get close to the halfway point of turning them all up, it kicks on somewhat, but never reaches full potential..... can anyone help please?!
