Re: How do i replace my harddrive on mu fujistsu A1110...
Hello
Regarding the sound issue:
If the sound icon in the lower right corner is set to max, it is the loudest this computer will go.
Now, installing a new Hard drive. Just follow the steps below.
-
Step 1
Make backup copies of any important files or folders that you
will still need to an external source such as a flash drive or CD-RW.
Power off the Fujitsu laptop and close the screen lid.
-
Step 2
Turn the Fujitsu laptop over so that you can see the battery
port on the bottom side of the case. Press down on the release latch for
the battery. Lift the battery out of the laptop case and set it aside.
-
Step 3
Find the rectangular plastic cover at the bottom edge of the
case that covers the hard drive
.
Remove the screw at the left side of the cover. Slide the cover to the
right and pull it off of the case.
-
Step 4
Take out the two screws holding the hard drive carriage to
the case. Pull the carriage containing the hard drive out toward the
left and then remove it from the case. Slide the hard drive out of the
carriage.
-
Step 5
Put the replacement hard drive into the carriage. Push the
carriage back into the open port on the Fujitsu laptop and then push it
to the right. Reinstall the two screws that hold the carriage into
place.
-
Step 6
Set the plastic cover back over the hard drive and carriage
assembly. Reattach the screw at the left side of the plastic cover. Push
the battery back into its port until the release latch clicks.
-
Step 7
Turn the Fujitsu laptop back over and open up the screen lid.
Power the laptop on. Put the operating system recovery CD that came
with the laptop into the disc drive. Follow the instructions that will
appear on the screen to install the operating system on the new hard
drive.
This should be sufficient. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions.
Kind regards
Andrea
