With respect to your question, you don't give any hint as to the OS you are using ... this is an important clue to answering your question.
Generally speaking, later versions of Windows have all the drivers required for contemporary devices. Generally speaking, legacy or 'classic' devices stop being supported at some point.
You need to find out if your device is supported by the OS and the Platform you are using. If you are using a PC with Windows OS, go here and review the hardware and software compatability list for your OS: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx. Here you will find what works with what. If your device is listed for your particular OS (Operating System) it will be so indicated, and you are in luck. If your device is not listed, it is not supported. If it is not supported, you will generally NOT find a driver for it. Time to replace the device.
