The screen will shadow or blacken out, but ususally on only part of the television and then go back to normal. This is ongoing and the television is only a couple years old. Other televisions in the house do not do this so it is apparently the VIZIO.
Sounds like the backlight inverter board is going out, or possible backlight ccfl going bad. The inverter board can be replaced but the actual ccfl's may not be able to, depends on the repair shop's in your area.
