How do I remove the stem from the automatic

Mcdevito75 here, You can remove the stem from your Seiko watch fairly easiky, however if your not familiar with the inside of a watch, I wouldn"t attempt it as you can easily destroy the watch. If you are a bit familiar with the workings of a watch, at least know that this is the balnce wheel, this is the hairspring, gear train etc. when you look at the workings of your watch then you should have no problem. If you are not familiar with the watches works I wouldn"t attempt it. But here goes, Lay the watch crystal down on some paper towels, clth. etc. something to cushion the watch, after you remove the back cover, and Movement cover, note the stem and it"
s position in the watch, just about next to the stem as it goes into the watch movement you"ll see a very small screw, veery small, with Jewelers screwdriver turn that screw 1 full turn, Gently try to remove the stem, do not use any force, if the stem does not come out, give 1 more turn on that screw, try to remove stem again, if not, give half turns on that screw 1 at a time, after each half turn try to remove stem. When the stem does come out do not touch that screw anymore. DO NOT REMOVE THAT SCREW FROM THE MOVEMENT, AS THE MECHANISM HOLDING THE STEM IN THE WATCH IS UNDER THE FACE (DIAL) 1 full turn on that screw the half turns, checking after each turn to remove the stem. You should have a magnifier glass and jewelers screwdrivers to do this job, all available over ebay. If your not familiar with watches, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for repairs.
