I changed the drum roller and still says Drum error. Is there a way to reset the drum...I have printed a lot of copies but very small amount of actual print.

To reset MFC-7840W drum count use the following steps.

1. open the front cover (leave open).
2. Press clear/back.
3. Then confirm the new drum install by pressing 1.
4. The display will indicate accepted.
5. Then close the front cover.

This should be done each time the drum unit is replaced.

Mine was having Drum Errors all morning. I fiddled around with it for hours, doing different combinations with the old toner / drum unit and the new toner / drum unit. Funny thing was is the drum unit and toner worked in a different brother printer so I knew it wasn't those causing the error, it was the machine. This reset mechanisim worked instantly. All error messages disappeared! THANK YOU!
