The dreamcast says to please wait while disk is being checked and when it doesn't read it and i try again it says please insert the disk when it is already in.
Yeah, I have the same problem, only it's only for one game. My last Dreamcast stopped reading all disks, and when that happened, I gave up on it and threw it away. :/

but you can get the disk relayered at game stores and also you can buy disks with small brushes that clean the lens.
make sure youve never touched the lens.
Certain Sega Dreamcast Consoles have issues with the laser lens and the motor of the disk reading system. Some of them die after a certain period of use.
