I have a BenQ FP71G+ monitor and the auto adjust message pops up frequently and the screen adjusts itself.
When you have strange problem like this, first place to look will be the power supply section. Look for burnt parts, leaking/bulging caps, that will be the starting point.

This problem is normally operation keypad related.
Need to change switches .
