How long since you bought your DS, did you take it back?

Doubtful, though I've not had one with a gimped antenna so I can't say for sure...
Probability is very high that failure to start is related to the ribbon cable(s) not being seated properly into the connector(s). This is a common issue during re-assembly. Often, these cables LOOK like they are re-seated properly - but they are not.
First suspect is the ribbon cable that passes through the hinge. Where it connects into the top board is where I encounter problems often. If this cable is not seated deeply enough into the connector - and perfectly perpendicular - your reassembled DS will NOT boot.
I always temporarily snap everything together and test boot prior to screwing everything back together. Even with care and experience I have to go back to this connector and re-seat the cable about 1 out of every 2 times.
Good luck...
