Not recognized by computers

Hi,
My Sony NWZ-A815 worked fine on most computers until recently, even ones that I couldn't do any file transferring would recognize it enough to charge it...BUT... I dropped it...only from hand height.. and since I did this it doesn't seem to be recognized by any computer that I connect it to...Any music that I had on still works( everything plays). However it no computer recognizes it, so therefore I will be unable to recharge it...surely there is something I could do? I thought I would at least be able to drop it 3or 4 times before it gave up!
Cheers for any help you might be able to give me

I have the same problem, but I did not drop my NWZ-A815. It has readily been recognized by my computer for the past several months, but today whenI plugged it into the USB port my computer says "USB Device not Recognized". What is my problem??
