Hi,
My Sony NWZ-A815 worked fine on most computers until recently, even ones that I couldn't do any file transferring would recognize it enough to charge it...BUT... I dropped it...only from hand height.. and since I did this it doesn't seem to be recognized by any computer that I connect it to...Any music that I had on still works( everything plays). However it no computer recognizes it, so therefore I will be unable to recharge it...surely there is something I could do? I thought I would at least be able to drop it 3or 4 times before it gave up!
Cheers for any help you might be able to give me
To fix this try the following using an account with administrator privileges and internet access:
1. Open Device Manager (While holding the windows key, press the Pause / Break key. This will open up the System Properties box. Select the Hardware tab and click Device Manager)
2. Find and expand the Portable Devices folder (a problem icon should appear beside the WALKMAN NWZ-A815 device)
3. Right-click WALKMAN NWZ-A815
4. Click Update Driver...
5. Select Yes, this time only
6. Click Next
7. Select Install the software automatically
8. Click Next
9. Click Finish
Open Windows Media Player 11, connect your sony nwz-a815 and wait for it to appear then try to sync some files.
