Push on the very bottom knob and turn counter clockwise while holding the other part steady with your other hand---then take it off without losing the spring inside. pull out the string holder refill it by feeding it into the center spot and wind around top and bottom-then feed it out hole on each side-replace spool in chamber and put bumper knob back on screwing down tight
