Can the burner grates be replaced with the new "full top" grates like the newer models? I like the look of the full covered grates and they would allow us to slide pots off the burners to cool.
Go to the store and look at them side by side. Try to put the grates from the one machine on the other. No book or manufacturer will tell you if they are interchangable. They want you to but the more expensive stove - not to upgrade your burners!
