If your LCD is on but blank then it means its not compatible with the picture being send from the CPU VGA unless its faulty itself.

  1. Try reducing your Computer display setting to those specified as native or default setting of your monitor. Offcoz to do this you ned another monitor preferably external. Boot up your machine with an external monitor connected if it lights up the external monitor then go to your desktop (if using windows) right click select properties and goto settings and reduce the VGA card setting to those of your LCD or just lower settings. and then restart your computer without the extrernal monitor.
  2. If it does lughts up your External monitor but does not light up your LCD on rebooting then its possibly that your video cable to the LCD is broken and needs replacement or that your assuming you saying that it powers up
  3. If it fails to light up the external monitor as well then if means your VGA card is not working (assuming you used modern CRT monitor to test it). If its up to the third option you need to replace your VGA card assuming its not onboard for a laptop. If its onboard please check if your machine is working or running properly when your machine is not diplaying like making windows welcome sounds etc cause it might be just your RAM that needs replacement
P.S. Try to give more details when you ask to make your questions easier to answer and answers more helpful
