Basic Computer Troubleshooting

Nothing happens at all when I press the power button.

1. Unplug the computer and wait 10 minutes for the power supply to reset. Try again
2. Plug something else into the outlet/power strip to ensure it has power
3. No lights and no sound - This is just the power supply, If you aren't comfortable replaceing it, take it to your computer store.
4. Lights come on, but no sounds. - This is commonly the power supply has lost some of the voltages, and needs replaced
5. Lights come on, hear hard drive sounds, but no monitor - This is commonly bad monitor or video card. Try another monitor, if that doens't work, try another video card.
