How do you turn the timer off before time is up?

    Pressing the timer button again does not do it.

    We are having the same problem.  Have tried STOP TIME, COOK TIME/STOP TIME and CANCEL.  No go.  Unfortunately we no longer have the manual.

Sorry, I didn't see your reply sooner.

I assumed you've already tried the "Cancel" button, but that would turn off the bake or broil cycle on most machines. If you have the Owner's Manual, your solution should be in there.

On most machines, one of these two options will clear the timer. If they don't, you may have a programming issue with the electronic control. Replacing the control is an expensive solution for this minor inconvenience.

You want to set the clock after charging the device. Takes a short time. Set the time by pressing TIME and then HOUR/MIN for the current time. Now you can set the timer.
Press the "ON" and set the time you want the device to turn on.
Press the OFF button and set the time to the time you want the device to turn off.
Put the switch on the top to the TIMER position and lug into the wall socket and then the device into the timer.
Should be good to go.

Can the timer be turned off for periods of time without losing the settings and how to ?

2) Unsure which timer you have.
Digital wall timers usually have back-up that holds memory for certain length of time before current time disappears.
Usually the programs remain indefinitely until timer is manually reset.

3) Why do you want to turn timer off?
Usually in-wall timers consume 3 watts of power per year.
Contrast big screen TV consumes 3 watts per hour standby loss when TV is turned OFF.

Need a good vacation timer. Any suggestions?
Copy following link to see analog vacation timers that turn lights on at random times.
Set current time slightly different so lights inside house can turn on-off at slightly different schedules.
Rotate dial to set current time, plug timer into outlet, make sure bulb is good, turn light ON, and plug light into timer.

On this timer is the light color of time Day and the blue cover on time for night?
You posted under GE 7-day random vacation timer.
This timer shows 7 days of the week.
The nighttime hours are white with blue background.
Daytime hours are blue with white background.
Timer dial rotates clockwise, and make 1 revolution each week.
To set timer, manually rotate dial until current day and hour line up with 'time now' pointer.
Move slide switch to TIMER ON.
Timer randomly turns on-off at preset times.
To watch timer in action: turn lamp ON, plug lamp into timer, plug timer into outlet, and then manually rotate dial clockwise several rotations and watch lamp turn on-off.

Utilitec 0148373 timer is plug-in type timer.
Set on-off times by moving pins.
Pins are located on dial and stick up. They can be moved back and forth like stick-shift on car.

Instructions:
Turn ON lamp.
Light bulb is good.
Plug lamp into timer.
Plug timer into outlet.
Move some pins outward.
Then manually rotate dial clockwise to watch how lights turn on-off.
That will tell you if lights turn on or off when pins are set outward.

To set current time, rotate dial clockwise until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial.
Dial turns as time passes.
Lever on top of timer is moved to 'Timer'

I baught a 3-outlet timer yardstake #15137. why does it blink on all settings except the on at all times?
Your yardstake timer has photo-eye that automatically turns lights on at dusk.
And then lights remain ON until set-time expires, or dawn arrives.
Timer automatically turns off at dawn, no matter which setting, unless timer dial set to ON
Photo-eye has to be turned away from outdoor lights or lights will blink.
That's because outdoor lights cause photo=eye to sense it's dawn, and timer turns OFF >>> a moment later photo-eye senses it's dark, and turns lights ON again.
Thus the timer turns ON-OFF.
Test this by putting black tape over photo-eye, or turning timer toward dark area. Timer should turn ON and follow set-time on dial.

How do you set the timer
You posted under mechanical outdoor timer with time dial located on face.
If you have different timer, add a comment.

Instructions:
Rotate dial clockwise until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial.
There are segments or pins located around outer edge of dial.

If timer has segments.
Pull these segments outward, or leave them in place to set on-off times.
Pull out a few segments and then rotate dial clockwise to see if lights turn on or off with segments out.
Then pull out segments for the times you want timer to turn on-off.

If timer has pins.
Click pins outward, or leave them in place to set on-off times.
Click out a few pins and then rotate dial clockwise to see if lights turn on or off with pins out.
Then pull out pins for the times you want timer to turn on-off.

Some timers also have an override button located on inner dial or somewhere on body of timer.
Move this switch to TIMER or AUTO, depending on your timer

2600 series is mechanical interval timer.
26006-00 can handle 10 amp loads.

Interval timer is a countdown timer that keeps Load turned on for set amount of time.
You set the time by rotating dial

To start timer, Rotate dial from 1 minute to 30 minute.
Rotating dial turns on Load and begins countdown.
Timer turns OFF Load after set amount of time expires.

How do i set timer to turn lights off and on
If I understand correctly, you have Intermatic electro-mechanical timer that has a yellow clock dial on front
And you want to set the timer to turn lights on and off
And your wiring is correct and the manual override turns the lights on-and-off correctly

To set timer:
Pull dial back toward you. Rotate clock dial until current time lines up with silver pointer.
On other brands of timer, you rotate dial until current time lines up with an arrow or the word 'time' located on lower right of clock dial
Timer has on-off trippers that fit outer edge of dial.
Intermatic trippers are labeled ON and OFF
Other brands of timer have dark and light-colored trippers >> I think the dark trippers on some brands are OFF

Place 'off' tripper when you want timer to turn off
Place 'on' tripper when you want timer to turn on
Turn on electricity and expect timer to run for 20 years
Dial has to be re-set to current time after power outage

The timer remains on all the time. I have to actually go out there and manually turn the timer off. I don't have a manual, so I don't know what the little red plastic flag amd the little black plastic flag...
The BLACK flag is for ON time.The RED flag is for OFF time. Set the Black flag into the rotating timer for the time of day you want the timers to turn ON and the Red flag for the time you want to turn the lights OFF. Once you have the flags in rotate the timer dial by hand and note when the lights go on and off. Adjust the flags as needed. Set the timer for the correct time of day and plug in. Also, you can check the Intermatic web site for additional information.
