In the K770i, total SMS capacity is 1000 160-character SMS messages. In other words, if you have longer text messages, they will take up the space of 2 or more text messages in memory. It may appear that the inbox is smaller but it will always hold 1000 messages.

The 1000 is used by Inbox, Sent Messages and Drafts so having lots of sent messages for example will make the inbox smaller.

1.go to your message settings and check the message center number to see if it is correct
2. call to your network operator customer care
3. request the message center number...
4.note it down
5. go to message settings>message center number
6. insert the number which is noted by you and save it

How to increase message memory in sony ericsson w700i
Hi jonothomask,
The Sony Ericsson W700i comes with 34 Mbytes of internal memory & the phone comes with a 256 Mbytes Memory Stick PRO Duo™ which will store approximately sixty four music tracks. The incoming messages will be stored in the internal memory only. So it cannot be extended even by the extternal memory card.

Just use the online Sony Ericsson utility to get a message with your phones settings...

You need both the Internet and MMS settings for the handset after receiving the settings, saving them and activating them your phone should be able to send and receive picture messages without any problems :)
