E5 error code occurs in certain models of Canon Pixma printers such as the Canon MP160 and Canon MP150, you may receive an E5 error when trying to print. In this state, you will not be able to use any of the functions of your printer. The error itself is an ink cartridge error. It may be that you are using generic or off-brand ink cartridges in your Canon Pixma printer. Canon Pixma printers do not work with other brands of print cartridges; invest in Canon brand ink cartridges and this should take care of your problem.
Hello all affected with Canon printer E 5 problems.
If the printer showes "E 5", so you cannot come in the service mode to get 0.
Till now I have no solution for this E5-Probleme but I think the problem is not away by install a new Canon-cartridge, why...
the EEPROM account all conections of cartrigdes, if there is 10 times, the printer looks like dead and schows E5. In Eeprom-print you can see under CT.
In that way a service people have to initialise the EEPROM and than the printer is ok.
Till now also I dont know, in which way You can bring the EEPROM to factory status.
If You know, please give information!!!
