We have a Brother 420-CN. Recently our power went out, and when it came back on, we received an error of "Error Code 48." We tried changing the ink that was out, but that didn't work. We called tech support, and they told us they couldn't tell us what the code meant because it was out of warrenty. The closest repair shop is an hour away, but we called and they said their best guess without looking at it would be to say that it was a problem with the head cable, but they aren't sure. My husband is very technically and mechanically handy, so we thought maybe we would be able to fix it ourselves if only we knew what the problem really was, and how to fix it...any help or guidance (with even just tell us what the error code means) would be great!
