I have a dell dimension e310 ...
i have a mic plugged in and it was working fine but now i cant get it towork. i thought it may be the mic so i bought a new one and that one doesnt work either so its something with the computer... im not too smart with computers but can you please help me with this , thanks!
Which program are you useing?
its possible your mic is on mute so no sound gets throught.
check the speaker icon next to your clock
then press settings and properties and click on regording. then ok. then make sure the microphone is not muted and the sound level is high enought.

well i am trying to talk to my friends on chat talk but they cant hear me. And is plugged in and every thing but this is the first time i put it in there . what should i do and i am not two smart with computers.
the mic icon is dose show up i the speaker contril how do you get it back
