Err 05 When I attempt to take a picture on my Canon EOS Digital Rebel, it won't allow me to take the photo. Instead, it shows a Err 05 message. I cannot locate my manual and can't figure out what the Err 05 means. Help?!!!

Had the same prob. Err 05 message. Managed to get the flash to pop up and then wiggled the silver latch.

To the one that said "I have the same prob." I made my flash to pop up. and it flashes and everything, but what sucks that I have to pull it up, usually it goes up by itself right? Which I don't really want to do.To the one that said "I have the same prob."

In my case, I borrowed a camera and when I got it back, err 05 appears.
I've located a bit of old orange juice which sticked one of the sensors
- you can see the sensors when flash is popped out.
Err 05 is "something obstructed the built-in flash's automatic pop-up operation. Turn the power switch to <OFF> and <ON> again*." (Presumably after you remove whatever is obstructing the built-in flash.
* according to canon Digital rebel instruction manual.
