Hi, befarms. The line 6 FBV Express allows you to select the A B C D in the existing/current bank. You will not be able to change the current bank, disable or enable the effects.
What you can do is, save the preset on the bank number that you desire by holding down the channel button on your amp whether it is A B C or D. Then when the button flashes, you can reinsert or rename the preset and save it to the channel(or bank) that you wish for by scrolling to the bank number and pushing the button on the amp (A B Cor D).
Therefore, you will be able to save your personal setting to a specific bank and channel.

i have a line 6 spider jam amp. it has no chanel buttons a b c d on the unit itself,only a b c d chanels on the fbv footpedal. can i preset amp tones and save them on the footpedal chanels?
