How do I remove the outer protective screen on my Mitsubishi WS-55315?

The outer protective screen was broken and there is a small tear on the inside screen. I really don't have the money to replace the tv or have a repairman housecall right now and would just like to know how to remove the plexi-glass type outer screen and possibly repair the small tear on the inner screen without damaging the tv any further. Can I replace it with some lexan or plexi glass myself? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

There are trim pieces around the edges that can be removed by sliding a knife underneath and lightly prying. They should remove fairly easily, don't force them as they may break. Use the knife on the cabinet side and pry toward the center of the screen.

The tear on the inner screen may be best left as is.

lexan would be better than plexi as it is tougher, but try to get anti-glare if possible. Anti-glare plexi would be better than regular lexan.
