Summing the info up, you will most likely need to pay someone a small fee to unlock it for you. I would suggest ebay if you decide to go this route.
KEEP IN MIND, however, that data will only work on T-mobile (the danger APN's are set up that way). You will only be able to use voice and text on any other carrier. This is worse than you think, as the sidekick stores all of it's information remotely. Therefore, with an unlocked sidekick, anytime the phone is turned off it will loose all of it's information, such as its address book."
I'm not sure how to change the language, I'd suggest you look at a manual.
