Function key needs reset - For any key with an alternate value normally reached by holding the Fn key to obtain...I must depress the Fn key to get the ''normal'' key value (I am doing that to type this). If I do not do that, th5s 5s the res43t. So, it appears that the Fn key is acting opposite of normal.

Your numlock button is on. Somewhere on the keyboard you will see a key labeled, NumLK or something similar, press this. It is usually located somewhere in the upper right side of the keyboard. What this allows you to do is turn on the number keys that are also associated with these keys, just like a normal keyboard has the number keypad on the right side, this key turns on the functionality, gets a lot of people.
