Howdy: This may help, I hope so. I had a door stuck or locked and could not open. I got a real skinny about 4" long and moved it back and forth between the door and frame. The latch gave just enough to open the door. Then I repaced the locking mechanism. The spring or return part sticks or is loose and will not release. I hope this helps a little - Try it - Doug
