I have a scanner HP3052.It has a scanner 6 error.They will NOT give any parts information. Does anyone know what the failing part is for the scanner 6 error?
I Have a HP LJ1120 Multifunction with the same error. I'll try with a reset on front panel but nothing. I disassembly the platten and found a little motor with a wear gear on it (SCAN MOTOR Q5584-60001), but its cost is about 25% of a new MFP.

Disconnect the printer cable (USB Cable / Data Cable) and swich off and on the printer...... it will solve the problem

We had Scanner error 6 on my 2840. I fixed by opening the scanner section and moving the scan unit halfway the rail. When I reconnected the intallation the issue had been solved.
Not a big issue only cleane scane glass if not work cleane scane bulb.

Scanner Error #5 on HP 2820/2830/2840 Only. The ADF scanner is manfunctioning. Cleaning is usually useless. 9 out of 10 of these repairs requires replacement of the ADF scanning assembly. The part number is Q3948-60191. The part cost around 160 to 175. Available from Dale at Seattle Platen 1-800-221-2388.
The swap out is not too intense to accomplish on your own with the service manual. Here is a free copy for download.

I've only had the printer 1 year, and I now have the same issue. Very frustrating. It won't let me print or do anything. I'll try cleaning and re-post the results.
