Software my samsung x830 has lost its software can only call and text nothing else works please help dave

My phone cannot play music player or view any images, have tried resetting it to default settings but with no luck. Please help I can only make & receive calls and text. My cell gets disconnected abruptly while talking or even its just kept aside. I took it to Samsung service centre in India. They said might be a software problem but they wudnt fix it as this model is not available in India.
