Invalid disk error

Updated firmware

I get an "invalid region code" on some but not all region 2 DVDs. One tech support person told me I needed to update the firmware but another said that was wrong; that I needed to reprogram the codes using my remote. Which is roght?

    Dear Yonatanh,

    Please help, I am getting the same error on all blank disks. I am willing to try the hacked firmware.

    Thanks for your help so far.

Did you get this working? If not, then your DVD isn't supposed to be region free in the first place, and I can send you a firmware which I have used a hack in order to make region free. You can then take this firmware and follow the same instructions you used for the other firmware.

    Try this:

    (1) Go to the setup screen.

    (2) Scroll down to EXIT, but do not press EXIT.

    (3) Enter the numbers 2,9,6,0.

    (4) Region Menu screen will appear;

    Select "(0)" or Region Free.

    (5) Press Setup to exit.
