When I make BW and colored copies on my Samsung color laser printer CLP-500 it leaves a gray ghost on prints. Should the unit that catches old toner be replaced or emptied periodically? Any thoughts? I went through cleaning toner areas and rollers with Samsung tech on the telephone. Plenty of life left in the transfer belt.
Do a panic stop while the machine is in the middle of processing copy. Remove the imaging unit and lift the drum cover to view the surface of the drum. If the image produced on the drum is OK (ie.no ghost image) then focus your attention on the hot rollers just before the paper exit. Otherwise your problem is the imaging unit.
