I didn't use the button you describe until I installed the DWA 103 USB-Wireless adapter in my remote computer. Then I followed the instructions and took the option to "use the button".
The button appeared on the screen, and I clicked it. That started a 120-second timer during which I had to scramble back to the wireless "access point" (i.e. the router) and push the button.
Be sure to push and HOLD the button pushed for five seconds. Seems a quick push don't cut it...

I still do not see the purpose of the button. I have installed the DWA-140 adapter in a laptop and the connection was established without any need to push that button.
