Hp K80 printer

Changed the color and black & white cartrigeges. The message now states "remove and check color cartridge" I put in a new 78 color and a new 45 black & white. Fax prints fine but computer will not even print b&w

    Same problem. Installed new color cartridge. Message says to remove and check color cartridge. I've done this a zillion times, still have problem. It won't go away. Have tried suggested fixes that don't work for me.

    have downloaded the drivers several times.. still will only recognize black and white and only prints in black and white... advanced settings don't even show color options

1)Clean cartridge print-heads (GENTLY) with meths or iso propyl alcohol (or cartridge flush solution from ink refillers).
2) clean contacts on side of cartridge with contact cleaner soln (Maplins or Tandy) and a fine brass brush BE GENTLE.

k80 should now recognise and align your cartridges.

K80 is very fussy

I have one HP K80 Officejet All-In-One printer. I have just finished printing and after a while the info window became blank while the green power indicator at the point of connection to the printer. The indicator was later coming on and off untill it fially goes off and the printer could not be powered since then. Please help, what's the solution?

I had the same problem, and it seems to have corrected itself. I too, installed a new "45" black cartridge and got the message to remove and check color cartridge. After I removed it and cleaned it the message stayed on the display for about 5 minutes and then asked me to "align cartriges." After I aligned them I had no problems.

I cleaned the vertical centerpost (you'll see it when the cartidge is out)with a small amount of acetone (nail polish remover) on a Qtip & it works fine now....must be some kind of circuit that needs to be closed and the ink on it kept it open....
