The problem are my printer not recognize the cartrige yellow. The mesage is "Replace the following empty ink cartrige to resume printing" and the cartrige is new. How can resolve this problem.
SOURCE: Empty ink cartridge message
I replaced the old cartridge with a new one (Magenta) and it still asks me to replace it with a new cartridge.
For 1 colour which is LOW, it stopped me completely from PRINTING or COPYING at all.
Any clues how to fix this?

Seriously...I've read all these reviews saying how the c5180 is so great, but I've had nothing but problems with it from day one, and have shelled out so much money fixing it. Now I'm getting an 'ink expiration near' error, which is completely preventing me from doing anything. I have a paper due tomorrow, and apparently I can't print it out now, a %$#@ing black and white document...bc MAGENTA is almost expired. Can someone please tell me a way to override this so I can print my paper? >.>
SOURCE: Printer won't recognize new ink cartridges
Follow this simple instructions:
Remove all the cartridges, clean the contact points on the cartridges and on the printer using soft brush/cotton dipped in alcohol/acetone/spirit. While they are drying, reset your printer; Turn it off > Disconnect usb cable, power cord, inthernet cable; >remove the papers from the tray >open the back panel door (the rear door where you clear paper jam). Also turn of the main switch which the dc adapter plugged in. After keeping it Off for about 5 minutes, turn on again using only the power cord, and again leave it on for few minutes > turn it off > connect all the cables > again turn it On and keep pressing the power button while it boots up. Now you can install the cartridges.
Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: cannot print in black because yellow cartridge is empty ?
Take the "empty" cartridge out and shake it, and then reinsert it. I did that on my HP 8500 and it worked. The indicator light showed it was full.
