MF-183 Serial number 033013030420. I defrosted the freezer. Waited until I could clean it and 3 hours later I cleaned it and let it sit for half hour. I plugged it back in waited another hour for green light. It came on, put meat back in the freezer. An hour later I heard a loud bang. Freezer still has green light on, however, the orange Alert light is also on.
Question edited for clarity, full 'make model (what it is)'. The serial number is never needed.
Something shorted out, but finding what went bang is often hard to find. Sometimes you can see a black mark or a fused broken wire, sometimes it is internal.
If I had to guess, the condenser fan would be first choice. Number two choice would be the door frame heater.
