Best advice is here. Don't use Universal Remotes. They are a compromise and don't have all the features of the original remote. Plus you have to go through as many as 50, three, four, and 5 digit codes. A facsimile remote works as soon as you put the batteries in.

Turn on your device ,then press and hold the Setup button ,press the device button > enter one of the codes below > test the remote.
Sharp tv codes: 0509, 0913, 0907, 0603, 0002, 0502, 0224, 0228, 0202, 0111, 0813
after each code if one does not work just follow the instructions again and enter another code.
