I have a problem with my Samsung split air conditioner. When I turn on the AC, it runs for a while, but then it shows a "CH" error, and none of the buttons work. I switch it off, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. The AC runs, but it seems like the cooling isn't working. Can someone tell me what might be the problem? The AC was cooling the room just fine an hour ago.
"CH" is a reminder to clean the filter. It may be followed by "CF." Your manual describes the process of cleaning. A clogged filter will deny the AC proper air flow and affect temperature. "DF" in this split unit refers to an automatic defrost of the heat exchanger from which it is normal if steam emerges. The fan may stop during this process. If an alarm appears and the AC won't run, it may have a short or a bad room temperature sensor. That begs an authorized repairman.
