So I can't clear the DE on my Samsung dryer because a pair of pants got stuck in door, since then DE shows now I can't clear it or use it anymore. Do I have to buy a whole new dryer? Can't we reset clear that DE code somehow? I unplugged it bla bla bla did that all. No one can answer this... ,
Since you had a garment get caught in the door, check the hinges and the door latch and striker. Something could be damaged, bent, loose or deformed. You may be able straighten the part or replace the specific part to get the door to close properly. A problem with the door switch or the wiring is also possible. However, I wouldn't check that the switch is not providing the locked signal to the control board until the door closes with the correct alignment of the latch. If you do need to check the wiring, see https://fleetappliance.com/dryer-repair/how-to-fix-samsung-dryer-error-code-de/ for accessing the lock mechanism.
I hope this helps. For further information, including a check for a parts list, please add a comment with the model number of your dryer.
