Same Problem At first now red x showed up. Map data is there but it does not use it because, according to vantage point, the map is not authorized and cannot be used with attached GPS receiver or SD card! Such garbage.

I understand what a red x means. The point is that it was bundled with the gps. Its a known issue to magellan and yet they did not fix it. I talked to support to work through this and finally got one to admit it was a known issue. And yet they still sell the Canada topo bundle and wait for the customer complaints instead of A) Sending the store a replacement for the sd card B) Recalling the units or C) providing online link to maps (which they have).
