Media jam transfer roller

After experiencing unnatural color streaks in my prints I cleaned the printer as stated in the manual (rollers and laserlens). After reinserting the drum the printer gave the error `media jam transfer roller` with no paper inside.
Please advise. I only printed about 10000 pagesm so I do not think it should be a hardware problem.

I also have a media jam transfer roller message and no paper is in the printer and it won't print. How can I get it to print again?

Same problems here... No paper in system to cause this message so troubleshooting solution in user's guide is no help. What now? I also cleaned insides due to the color streaks on the sides of pages. Probably should have just lived with them.

We have a Xerox 6120 which is mechanically identical to the 2430. It was reporting media jams. We determined after removal and careful inspection that the fuser roller and fuser pressure roller had been damaged by what looked like someone attempting to clear a jam with a sharp object. I cannot speak re: the 2430, but the fuser in the 6120 is not a FRU. The construction of the fuser doesn't tolerate any flaws on either surface. There was more paper jammed in the fuser where we couldn't see it until we had the fuser out of the printer. We are shopping for a new printer as the repairs will cost more than we paid for the printer.

Hello pp-helps,

This is very interesting. I do have the very SAME problem with my Xerox 6120 printer. I've been looking for the fuser roller all over without any sucess. The new fuser unit costs approximately the same as a new printer. I'm frustated at this time. I want to ask you the following: Are the mechanical components from the 2430 exactly the same as the 6120 as far as the fuser unit goes? if I find a roller replacement for the 2430 will it fit my 6120? do you have a p/n by any chance or know where can I get it?
I really really appreciate your help.

Regards,
Frank
