When I insert a DIMM into my IBM T30 RAM slot, it is loose and is not recognized by SI. When I hold pressure on the DIMM, it is recognized. The RAM slot has apparently increased in size, possibly due to heat, and no longer provides a snug fit for a DIMM. Is there a fix? Thank you, Jon

Replacing the memory slot is not an option. A new mother board would be a better solution. I am wondering if there is a way to compress a memory slot. I have considered heating with a soldering iron and then compressing with pliers. My concern is that I will damage the slot or mother board. Is there a better idea?
