Keyboard Problems I have a MPC Transport X1000, everything works except the keyboard, can not typr any thing except for a few characters like !//// etc. No letters. Do I need a keyboard?

Hello Sir. A condition like the above can point out many solutions depending on the points which can cause the inconvenience:------

1. The keyboard's keys are somehow have acquired dust at the rear socket which connects it to the board. In this condition you have to clean every part of the keyboard by deattaching every part and also the keys ( mainly ).
2. The keyboard software or the Driver is somehow has got corrupt or to be more specific, not responding. In this case, you have to change that keyboard software or Driver.
3. Some specific Keyboard software's files are not responding due to corruption thus causing the keys non-responsive. In this case you also have to get a new software or driver for the keyboard.

If that is the case , it will be better if you try using a different keyboard so we can see if that new keyabord will be working, because if the other like a usb keyboard will be working so we're sure that its a keyboard problem....

As an IT engineer, I would definately say the keyboard is faulty. A replacement of the keyboard should do the job. This is more a hardware fault than software.
