Copier was donated to local church. Getting error code F-77-2. Is this anything serious, or could we do anything on our own? Hesitate to call for service, as we do not have extra funds to put into this item.
I cna't help unless you provide the make and model of the machine. From the looks of the number it could be a Konica but I need the model to tell you wat it means. Aloha, Bill Monroe
Hi-
OK now we have something to work with. Yours is an older model but fortunately most of the major manufacturers keep the same codes. My manual says that your F-77-2 is a finisher problem. Finishers are the large attachment on the side of the machine that is little more than an expensive stapler. That particular code is indicates that the tray that travels up and down is out of position. This most often happens when the system is moved and the tray is knocked out of its track, and it might look a bit higher on the rear side than the front or vice seversa. The simplest fix would be to visualy inspect the tray and if its crooked, try straighten it, or the best solution is to remve the finisher altogether and use the exit tray to catch the copies as they come out of the machine. The finisher is more trouble than its worth, as you have found out.
Let me know if this helps.
Aloha,
Bill Monroe

yes, it is a Konica 7030. Thank you for your help.
Same code as previous poster, but the trays seem to be in line, and move up and down when powered on.
