sorry for the caps- DO NOT FORMAT ANY CAMERA CARD IN A COMPUTER. The card must be formatted in a camera, preferable the one it is going to used on. If in trouble take the card and camera to a photo store and ask them to format the card for you.

Yes its only once you go above the 2GB sizes that you hit the SDHC cards wich have diffrent formatting that you would run into problems as you can see in the compatibility sheet here

Make sure the SD card is unlocked. There's a tiny switch on the side. Put it into the camera. Under storage, when you select the card, also select format.
